Acne Treatment

Acne Treatment

Acne is a chronic and very resistant skin  condition of adolescent girls and boys. It’s a very common adult concern as well. It has various stages. It is mainly caused by overproduction of sebum in the sebaceous glands of the skin under certain hormonal influence. This sebum (skin oil) consequently clogs these glands. Acne bacteria (Propionibacterium acnes) invades this favorable environment resulting in a full-blown disease. Acne Vulgaris is a disfiguring and resistant condition if not treated at an early stage. In most cases acne and acne scars can be very stubborn. There are various conventional oral & topical medications used for this condition with certain merits and demerits.

We here, at Corneum Lasers treat this condition safely and effectively with a special and innovative technique namely Acne Laser Genesis. Laser directly acts on and kills the acne bacteria in the deeper layers of the skin. ND YAG Laser also reduces the sebum (Skin oil) level of the skin that further potentiates the healing and shorten the recovery time. This kind of treatment acts on all layers of the skin and remodels the underlying tissues hence removing the superficial scars.

Although, there is noticeable improvement after the first treatment, however to achieve ultimate results, full treatment may needs 6-8 sessions, each session two weeks apart. The popularity of this treatment lies in its effectiveness and quicker results without any significant complication. This procedure takes about 40-45 minutes and there is no downtime.

We also use highly efficacious FDA approved medicated products as an adjuvant to above treatment which enhances the healing quickly. There are also special acne peels (Facial Peels) which are very helpfull in mild acne and acne prone skin. These peels are very essential to prevent acne episodes if taken as maintenance therapy post laser once every 3-4 months.
